Robot mower shows E017 and refuses to start due to a PIN or security lock.

Safety first: Keep the mower in a secure location while troubleshooting.

• Wait lockout period: If you entered the wrong PIN several times, wait the specified lockout time (see manual) before trying again.
• Check keypad: Ensure buttons are not stuck and respond correctly. Clean around the keys with a dry cloth.
• Recover PIN: If you registered the mower with Cub Cadet, contact customer support with proof of purchase to recover or reset the PIN.
• Do not attempt bypass: Avoid shorting pins or opening the control board to bypass security; this can permanently damage the mower and void the warranty.
