Possible Causes
Vacuum fan motor overheating, Drive motor overloaded, Dust buildup on motor windings, Electrical short on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock. Do not continue using it until inspected.
- Allow cooling: Let the robot cool down completely for at least 1 hour.
- Inspect for visible damage: Open the dust bin and check for melted plastic or scorch marks near the fan inlet.
- Clean thoroughly: Clean filters, ducts, and brush assemblies to reduce load on the motors.
- Short test: Run the robot for a few minutes while monitoring for smell or excessive heat. If the issue returns, stop immediately.
- Replace suspect parts: If the smell is strongest near the exhaust, replace the Vacuum Fan Motor Assembly. If it is near a wheel, replace the affected Drive Wheel Module. If burning appears to come from the main PCB area, replace the Main Control Board and consider professional service.
