Possible Causes
Front IR sensors dirty or misaligned, Strong ambient light interference, IR sensor board aging, Bumper switches only triggering after hard impact
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot.
- Clean front sensor windows: Wipe all front-facing dark plastic windows with a microfiber cloth.
- Reduce glare: Avoid running the robot in very bright direct sunlight that can saturate IR sensors.
- Check bumper action: Ensure the bumper moves freely and that light taps cause the robot to react (test while ON).
- Replace sensor board: If the robot only reacts after physical bumper contact and not to approaching obstacles, replace the Front IR Sensor Board.
