Poor Temperature Control / Overshoot
Room temperature overshoots the setpoint by several degrees before the boiler turns off.

Possible Causes
Thermostat installed in a draught or near a heat source, Incorrect control algorithm settings (e.g., cycle rate, TPI), Slow-response radiators or underfloor heating not configured, Faulty internal temperature sensor calibration.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety Note: Most corrections are made via settings and positioning; no mains work is usually required.
Steps to improve control:
- 1. Check thermostat location: Ensure it is on an internal wall, about 1.5 m above the floor, away from radiators, direct sunlight, and draughts.
- 2. Adjust control parameters: In the installer menu, set the control type appropriate to the system (e.g., TPI for radiators, slower cycles for underfloor heating) as recommended by Baxi.
- 3. Use temperature offset: If the thermostat consistently reads lower than the actual temperature, apply a small offset to ensure more accurate control.
- 4. Enable learning features: If available, enable adaptive or learning algorithms that anticipate overshoot.
When to call a professional: If overshoot remains severe despite correct placement and settings, the sensor or control board may be faulty, and the thermostat should be evaluated or replaced.
