Possible Causes
Thermostat located near a heat source or in a dead zone, Incorrect cycle rate or anticipator settings, Slow-response hydronic or radiant system not configured correctly, Internal sensor offset.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No high-voltage work is required.
- Evaluate location: Ensure the thermostat is not above radiators, near ovens, or in direct sunlight.
- System type settings: In the installer menu, select the correct system type (forced air vs. hydronic/radiant). Radiant systems often need special control algorithms to prevent overshoot.
- Adjust cycle/differential: Reduce the temperature differential or adjust cycle rate per Bosch guidelines to tighten control.
- Use temperature offset: Apply a small offset if the thermostat consistently reads lower than the actual room temperature.
- Relocate if necessary: If the location is poor, have the thermostat moved to a more representative area.
