Possible Causes

Unpaired or factory-reset Ideal smart TRVs, RF module fault in thermostat, incompatible accessory firmware, RF interference.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No mains work is required for pairing accessories.

Steps:

  • 1. Check accessory power: Ensure Ideal smart TRVs or wireless sensors have fresh batteries installed correctly.
  • 2. Put accessory into pairing mode: Follow the accessory manual (usually holding a button until an LED flashes). Ensure you are within a few metres of the thermostat during pairing.
  • 3. Start pairing on thermostat: In the thermostat menu or Ideal app, go to Devices > Add Accessory and follow prompts.
  • 4. Reduce interference: Avoid pairing near large metal objects or other RF devices. Temporarily turn off nearby 2.4 GHz devices if pairing is unreliable.
  • 5. Firmware updates: Update both thermostat and accessory firmware via the Ideal app if supported.
  • 6. Replace RF module/thermostat: If no accessories can be detected despite correct procedure, the thermostat RF module may be faulty.
