Possible Causes
Incorrect adapter used between the TRV and valve body, Valve pin travel outside the expected range, Obstruction inside the valve, Firmware calibration error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Radiators may be hot; allow them to cool if necessary.
- Check adapter: Ensure the correct Wiser adapter is used for your valve type (e.g., M30x1.5). Tighten the adapter securely.
- Free valve pin: Remove the TRV head and manually exercise the valve pin until it moves smoothly.
- Re-run calibration: Refit the TRV and, via the app or device procedure, start a calibration cycle so the TRV can learn the valve travel.
If TRV02 persists with the correct adapter and a free valve pin, the TRV's internal position sensor or firmware may be faulty. The TRV head should be replaced.
