Possible Causes
Thermostat installed in a draught or near a heat source, incorrect control algorithm settings, slow-response radiators or underfloor heating, or a faulty temperature sensor.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No mains work is required.
- Check thermostat location: Ensure the Wiser thermostat is on an interior wall, about 1.5 m above floor level, away from radiators, sunlight, and draughts.
- Adjust control settings: In the Wiser app, check for advanced settings such as 'Eco', 'Comfort', or 'Adaptive' modes and experiment with different options to reduce overshoot.
- Allow learning period: Many smart thermostats learn system response over several days. Give the system time to adapt after installation or major changes.
- Compare temperature: Use a separate thermometer to verify the thermostat reading. If it is inaccurate, the thermostat may need replacement.
