The generator enclosure or frame shows signs of rust and corrosion.

Safety first: Turn the controller to OFF and avoid grinding or sanding near open electrical components.

• Clean affected areas: Remove loose rust with a wire brush and clean with a mild detergent solution.
• Apply rust converter: Treat rusted metal with an appropriate rust converter product.
• Repaint: Use outdoor-rated paint compatible with the original finish to protect exposed metal.
• Improve drainage: Ensure the pad is above grade and water does not pool around the base.

Severe structural corrosion may require enclosure or base replacement.
