Possible Causes

Mechanical jam in transfer contactor, Faulty ATS control logic, Incorrect voltage sensing threshold, Burnt transfer contacts

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Lock out and tag out both the mains and generator sources before opening the ATS. Only qualified electricians should service ATS units.

  • Visual inspection: Check the ATS contactor or motorized switch for signs of overheating or mechanical damage.
  • Manual operation: If the ATS has a manual transfer handle, test its movement with power off. It should move smoothly between positions.
  • Check generator voltage: Ensure the Einhell generator is producing the correct voltage and frequency; the ATS will not transfer if parameters are out of range.
  • Inspect control fuses: Replace any blown control fuses in the ATS.

Burnt or welded contacts require replacement of the ATS contactor assembly.
