Possible Causes
Damaged or missing door seals, improper roof or lid sealing, blocked drain holes, or incorrect installation slope.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the battery and AC power before working inside a wet generator. Allow components to dry before energizing.
- Dry the interior: Use towels and a fan to dry water from the base pan and components. Do not use open flame heaters.
- Inspect seals: Check door gaskets and lid seals for cracks or gaps. Replace worn seals with OEM Generac gasket kits.
- Clear drains: Ensure base pan drain holes are open so water can escape.
- Correct grading: Verify that the concrete pad slopes slightly away from the generator and that roof runoff does not fall directly on the unit.
