Possible Causes
Emergency stop pushbutton engaged, open E-stop circuit wiring, faulty E-stop switch contacts.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Confirm that no emergency condition exists before resetting any E-stop. The E-stop is a safety device.
Steps:
- Check E-stop button: Locate the red EMERGENCY STOP pushbutton on the Gillette generator enclosure or control panel. If it is latched in, twist or pull (depending on style) to release.
- Inspect wiring: Open the control panel and trace the E-stop circuit wiring from the button to the controller terminals. Look for loose connections, broken wires, or corrosion at terminal blocks.
- Test switch: With power off, use a multimeter to verify continuity through the E-stop switch when released and an open circuit when pressed. Replace the switch if readings are incorrect.
- Reset controller: After correcting the issue, clear the EMERGENCY STOP alarm on the controller and attempt a start.
