Possible Causes
Oil level below the minimum mark, oil leak from the sump gasket, incorrect oil grade causing consumption, faulty oil level sensor in the sump.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the engine to cool. Turn OFF the generator and isolate the battery negative.
- Verify oil level: Use the dipstick to check the oil level. If below minimum, top up with the correct oil grade specified for the Himoinsa engine.
- Inspect for leaks: Check around the sump, oil filter, and oil cooler hoses for signs of leakage. Tighten fittings or replace gaskets as needed.
- Check oil level sensor: Locate the oil level sensor on the sump. Inspect the wiring and connector. Test sensor resistance or switching function according to the engine manual. Replace if faulty.
- Reset alarm: After correcting the oil level and any leaks, clear E08 on the controller and perform a test run. Monitor for recurring alarms, which may indicate excessive oil consumption or internal engine issues.
