Possible Causes

Loose oil drain plug, Damaged oil filter seal, Crankshaft seal leak, Valve cover gasket failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the generator, disconnect battery negative, and place absorbent pads under the unit. Avoid slipping hazards.

  • Identify leak source: Clean the engine exterior with degreaser and run briefly to pinpoint the leak.
  • Drain plug and filter: Tighten the oil drain plug to Lifan torque spec and ensure the oil filter is snug. Replace the oil filter if its gasket is damaged.
  • Gaskets and seals: If oil seeps from the valve cover, replace the valve cover gasket. Leaks from the front or rear crankshaft seal require more advanced service.
  • Refill and test: Top up oil to correct level and monitor for further leakage during operation.
