Possible Causes
Failed door lock assembly, misaligned door catch, broken door hook, or a wiring fault between the door lock and the control board.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
Check the door and lock:
- Inspect door hook: Examine the plastic door catch on the door. If cracked or loose, it may not fully engage the lock.
- Test door closure: Close the door firmly; you should hear a solid click. If the door feels loose or misaligned, adjust the hinge screws.
- Access door lock: Remove the front retaining spring of the door gasket and peel back the seal near the lock. Unscrew the door lock assembly and pull it out slightly.
- Check wiring: Inspect the connector for burning or loose pins. Reseat firmly.
Replace if needed: If the lock coil is open (test with a multimeter) or the mechanism is physically damaged, replace the door lock assembly. Refit the gasket and retaining spring carefully to avoid leaks.
