Possible Causes
Stuck door lock mechanism, Faulty door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or cable, Control board not releasing lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine. Do not force the door open with tools, as this can shatter the glass.
- 1. Wait for safety delay: Bosch units often have a 1–2 minute delay before unlocking. Ensure the drum has fully stopped and wait a few minutes.
- 2. Check for water in drum: If water remains, the machine may keep the door locked. Manually drain via the pump filter and then try to unlock again.
- 3. Use emergency release: Many Bosch combos have a manual door release near the pump filter behind the lower flap. Pull the colored tab or lever gently to mechanically unlock the door.
- 4. Inspect door lock assembly: After opening, remove the door seal clamp and access the door lock. Check for signs of overheating, cracks, or broken plastic. Replace the door lock assembly if damaged.
- 5. Test wiring: Ensure the wiring harness to the lock is secure and not pinched or burnt.
- 6. If E06 recurs: The control module may not be sending the unlock signal correctly. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
