Possible Causes
Leak from door seal, Leak from tub-to-pump hose, Cracked sump or tub, Activated base leak float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when moving the unit.
- 1. Inspect visible leaks: Look around the door seal, detergent drawer, and rear hoses for obvious drips or puddles.
- 2. Check base tray: Carefully pull the machine forward and tilt it slightly to see if water is present in the base. Many Bosch units have a float switch in the base that triggers E13 when water is detected.
- 3. Dry the base: If water is present, soak it up with towels or use a wet/dry vacuum. Do not bypass the float switch; find and fix the source of the leak.
- 4. Inspect internal hoses: Remove the front lower panel or rear panel to inspect the tub-to-pump hose, circulation hoses, and clamps for cracks or loose connections.
- 5. Examine door boot (gasket): Check for tears, holes, or mold damage. Replace the door seal if compromised.
- 6. Test after repair: Once leaks are repaired and the base is dry, plug in the machine and run a short cycle while monitoring for new leaks.
- 7. If leak source is not obvious: A technician may need to perform a pressure test or inspect the tub and heat exchanger for hairline cracks.
