Bosch Extended Cycle Time / Heating or Sensing Issue

Washer-dryer takes much longer than expected to complete cycles

Possible Causes

Insufficient water heating, Excessive foam from too much detergent, Load imbalance causing repeated spin attempts, Faulty temperature or load sensors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before internal diagnostics.

  • 1. Use correct detergent: Ensure you are using HE (high-efficiency) detergent and not overdosing. Excess suds can cause the machine to extend rinse and spin phases.
  • 2. Check heating: Confirm that water heats properly during hot cycles (door glass should become warm). If not, see E05/E12.
  • 3. Avoid overloading: Overloading can cause poor rinsing and spinning, leading to extended times.
  • 4. Sensor check: If basic causes are ruled out, temperature or load sensors may be misreading and should be tested by a technician.
