Safety first: Switch off and unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open.

• Wait for delay: Many Bush models have a 1–2 minute delay before unlocking. Wait and listen for the click.
• Check for water in drum: If water is visible, run a drain/spin program. A full drum will keep the door locked.
• Use emergency release: Access the emergency door release near the pump filter (if fitted) and pull to open the door.
• Inspect door lock: Once open and unplugged, access the door lock and check for mechanical damage or overheating. Replace the door interlock if it fails to release reliably.
