Possible Causes
Short-circuited heater element, Stuck heater relay on main control board, Wiring short-circuited to chassis, Faulty NTC sensor causing incorrect heater control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and ensure the tub is cool.
- Inspect heater and wiring:
- Access the wash heater from the rear.
- Check for visible damage, burn marks, or melted insulation.
- Test heater resistance and insulation:
- Disconnect heater wires.
- Measure resistance across the heater; if extremely low or short-circuited, replace the heater.
- Check for continuity between heater terminals and earth; any reading indicates a short to chassis.
- Check NTC sensor: A faulty NTC can cause the control to mismanage heating; test and replace if it is out of specification.
- If components test correctly: The heater relay on the main control board may be stuck or damaged; replace the control board.
