Possible Causes
Frequent low-temperature washes, residual water in door gasket folds, detergent and softener residue in the tub and hoses, clogged drain filter harboring bacteria.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before cleaning internal filters.
- Step 1 – Clean the door gasket: Wipe the gasket folds with a cloth soaked in a mild bleach solution or dedicated washer cleaner. Remove any visible mold.
- Step 2 – Clean the detergent drawer: Remove the drawer and scrub away residue. Clean the housing as well.
- Step 3 – Clean the drain filter: Remove and clean the filter to eliminate trapped debris.
- Step 4 – Run a maintenance cycle: Run an empty 60–90°C wash with a washing machine cleaner or a cup of white vinegar (do not mix with bleach). This helps dissolve biofilm.
- Step 5 – Prevention: Leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open between uses to allow drying. Use the correct amount of HE detergent.
