How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer before attempting manual door release. Water inside may be hot.
- Wait and reset: Allow several minutes after the cycle ends. Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and press Cancel/Drain & Spin to attempt unlock.
- Ensure tub is drained: If water remains, run a drain & spin. The door will not unlock if the control senses water level is too high.
- Manual release: Access the door lock from behind the front panel or boot and use the manual release tab to open the door.
- Replace door lock assembly: If the lock repeatedly fails to release, install a new Amana door lock assembly.
