Possible Causes

Failed water level pressure switch, kinked or clogged pressure hose, air dome blockage on tub, wiring harness issue between sensor and control

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer and turn off both hot and cold water supplies before servicing.

  • Reset and test: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug in and try a rinse & spin. If F3E1 returns, continue.
  • Inspect pressure hose:
    • Remove the top panel.
    • Locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the tub/air dome to the pressure sensor on the control or side wall.
    • Check for kinks, cracks, or disconnections. Re-seat both ends securely.
    • Blow gently through the hose (disconnected from the sensor) to clear any soap or lint blockage.
  • Check air dome on tub: Ensure the connection point on the outer tub is not clogged with detergent buildup. Clean if necessary.
  • Test/replace pressure sensor:
    • Inspect the sensor connector for corrosion or loose pins.
    • If available, use a multimeter per the tech sheet to test sensor resistance or voltage.
    • If readings are out of spec or the code persists, replace the water level pressure sensor with an Amana-approved part.

Warning: Do not bypass or jumper the pressure switch; this can cause dangerous overfilling and flooding.
