Possible Causes
Partially clogged drain pump, restricted drain hose, excessive suds slowing drainage, pump impeller obstruction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and be prepared for water spillage when opening the pump or hoses.
- Reduce suds: If you see heavy suds, run a rinse & spin with no detergent. Use only HE detergent and reduce quantity.
- Inspect drain hose: Check for kinks, clogs, or freezing (in cold climates). Clear or replace as needed.
- Clean pump:
- Access the drain pump from the front or bottom.
- Remove the pump inlet hose and check for socks, coins, or debris.
- Spin the impeller by hand to ensure it moves freely.
- Test drain: Reassemble and run a drain & spin. If the pump is noisy or still slow, replace the pump.
