Possible Causes
Clogged drain pump filter, Blocked drain hose, Foreign object in drain pump impeller, Failed drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Water may spill when opening the filter; keep towels and a shallow tray ready.
- Step 1 – Access and clean the pump filter:
- Locate the service flap at the bottom front of the Arctic washer.
- Place a tray and towels under the flap, then open it.
- Slowly unscrew the pump filter cap to let water drain gradually.
- Remove the filter and clean out coins, lint, buttons, and other debris.
- Reach into the pump cavity and feel for obstructions around the impeller.
- Step 2 – Check the drain hose:
- Inspect the external drain hose for kinks, crushing, or freezing (in cold environments).
- Detach the hose from the standpipe or sink and flush it with water to clear blockages.
- Step 3 – Test the drain pump:
- With the filter removed, gently spin the pump impeller with your finger; it should turn freely with slight resistance.
- If it is jammed or very loose, the pump may be damaged.
- Reinstall the filter, plug in the washer, and run a drain/spin program. Listen for the pump humming.
- If the pump is silent or only hums without pumping, it likely needs replacement.
- Step 4 – Replace the drain pump (intermediate):
- Unplug the washer and lay it back slightly (protect the floor).
- Remove the bottom panel or rear panel (model dependent) to access the pump assembly.
- Disconnect the wiring connector and hose clamps, then remove the pump.
- Install the new Arctic-compatible drain pump, reconnect hoses and wiring, and reassemble panels.
- If E03 persists after pump replacement, wiring or control board faults should be checked by a technician.
