Possible Causes

Failed heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt wiring at heater terminals, Faulty main control board heater relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and allow it to cool before accessing internal components.

  • Step 1 – Access the heater:
    • Remove the rear panel of the Arctic washer (or front lower panel on some models).
    • Locate the heating element at the bottom of the outer tub with two power terminals and a central earth/NTC connection.
  • Step 2 – Visual inspection:
    • Check for burnt connectors, melted insulation, or signs of water leakage around the heater seal.
    • Tighten any loose spade connectors.
  • Step 3 – Test the heater (advanced):
    • Disconnect the heater wires.
    • Use a multimeter set to resistance; a typical 1800–2200 W heater at 230 V should read around 20–30 Ω.
    • Infinite resistance (open circuit) or a reading close to 0 Ω indicates a faulty heater.
    • Also test for earth leakage by measuring between each terminal and the metal body of the heater; any continuity indicates a short to earth.
  • Step 4 – Test the NTC sensor:
    • The NTC is usually integrated in the heater bracket.
    • At room temperature, it should read roughly 20–30 kΩ (check Arctic service data for exact values).
    • If the reading is far off or does not change when warmed slightly, replace the NTC.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty parts:
    • Loosen the central nut on the heater, push the bolt inward to release tension, and gently pry the heater out.
    • Clean the sealing area and install a new Arctic-compatible heater (and NTC if separate).
    • Reconnect wiring as per original layout and reassemble the rear panel.
  • If E05 persists, the control board heater relay or triac may be defective; board repair should be done by a qualified technician.
