How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Avoid spinning the drum at high speed by hand if scraping is severe.
- Step 1 – Inspect drum interior:
- Check all drum holes for protruding objects.
- Inspect plastic drum paddles for cracks or looseness.
- Step 2 – Check door seal area:
- Look between the drum edge and door seal for trapped items.
- Step 3 – Remove foreign objects:
- On some Arctic models, drum paddles can be removed from inside the drum to access trapped items.
- Alternatively, access may be gained via the heater opening after removing the heater.
- Step 4 – Replace damaged paddles:
- If a drum lifter is broken, replace it with the correct Arctic part.
- After removal of the object, rotate the drum by hand to ensure the noise is gone before running a cycle.
