Possible Causes
Torn or worn door gasket, Foreign object trapped between seal and drum, Loose or damaged gasket retaining band, Excessive suds causing overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply. Mop up any spilled water to avoid slipping.
- Step 1 – Inspect the door seal:
- Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber gasket.
- Look for tears, holes, or areas where the seal has pulled away from the metal front panel.
- Remove any coins, bra wires, or debris trapped in the folds.
- Step 2 – Check retaining bands:
- Gently pull the seal to confirm it is firmly held by the outer metal or wire band.
- If the band is loose or broken, refit or replace it.
- Step 3 – Monitor for over-sudsing:
- Ensure you are using HE (high-efficiency) detergent suitable for front-loaders.
- Reduce detergent quantity if you see excessive foam in the door glass.
- Step 4 – Replace the gasket if damaged:
- Remove the outer retaining band and peel the seal from the front panel.
- Access the inner band by removing the top and possibly front panel (model dependent).
- Fit the new Arctic-compatible door gasket, ensuring the drain holes are at the bottom.
- Refit inner and outer bands securely.
- Run a short wash to confirm the leak is resolved.
