How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Prepare towels and a shallow tray for draining water.
- Step 1 – Manually drain:
- Open the lower service flap.
- Use the emergency drain hose (if fitted) or slowly open the pump filter to release water.
- Step 2 – Clean pump filter:
- Remove and thoroughly clean the filter and pump cavity.
- Check for small items like hairpins or coins around the impeller.
- Step 3 – Check external drain:
- Ensure the standpipe or sink drain is not blocked.
- Flush the drain hose with water to confirm it is clear.
- Step 4 – Test pump operation:
- Reassemble, plug in, and run a drain/spin program.
- If the pump is noisy, intermittent, or fails to run, replace the drain pump.
- If the issue recurs, have a technician check the pump wiring and control board.
