Possible Causes

Defective door lock contacts, broken wiring from lock to control, misaligned door, faulty control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer.

  • Check door lock operation: Start a cycle and listen for the lock clicking (only if safe and briefly powered). If no click, the lock may be faulty.
  • Inspect door hook and strike: Ensure the plastic hook on the door is not cracked or worn. Replace if damaged.
  • Check wiring: Access the door lock as in F13 and inspect the harness for breaks or loose connections.

If F26 continues: Replace the door lock assembly. If the issue remains, the main control board door lock input circuit may be defective.
