Possible Causes
Door not properly closed, faulty Start button contacts, child lock function active, defective door lock, UI board fault.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands clear of moving parts.
- Check door and indicators: Close the door firmly. Look for a door-locked indicator on the display. If not lit, the lock may not be engaging.
- Disable child lock: Many Bauknecht models use a key symbol. Hold the designated button combination (often two buttons for 3–5 seconds) to deactivate the child lock (see user manual).
- Try another program: Select a different cycle and press Start to rule out a program-specific issue.
If still no start: The door lock or user interface board may be faulty and require replacement.
