Possible Causes
Child lock (key symbol) activated, door not properly closed, faulty Start button or control panel, door lock not engaging.
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control panel.
- Check child lock: If a key or lock symbol is lit, disable the child lock by holding the designated buttons (refer to the Bosch manual, often pressing and holding two buttons for 3–5 seconds).
- Confirm door closure: Close the door firmly until you hear a click. Ensure no laundry is trapped.
- Try another program: Select a different cycle and press Start to rule out a program-specific issue.
- Inspect control panel: If buttons are unresponsive, the user interface PCB or membrane may be faulty and require replacement.
