Possible Causes
Failed heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt heater wiring, Defective main control board relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the washer and ensure the drum is cool before working near the heater.
- Access the heater: On most Candy washers, remove the rear panel to access the heater at the bottom of the tub.
- Check wiring: Inspect the heater terminals and NTC sensor connector for signs of burning, corrosion, or loose connections. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Test the element: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the heater terminals. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. If open circuit or short to earth (test between each terminal and the metal tub), replace the heater.
- Test the NTC sensor: Measure resistance at room temperature (often 20–30 kΩ). Resistance should decrease smoothly when warmed. If readings are erratic or open, replace the NTC.
- Replace faulty parts: Loosen the central heater nut, push the bolt in slightly, and gently pry the heater out. Fit a Candy-compatible heater with NTC if required, ensuring the seal sits correctly to avoid leaks.
If the heater and NTC are good, the fault may be on the PCB heater relay or triac, which should be diagnosed by a professional.
