Possible Causes

Worn carbon brushes (on brushed motors), Faulty motor tachometer, Broken motor wiring harness, Defective motor control circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor.

  • Check belt and drum: Remove the rear panel and confirm the drive belt is intact and correctly tensioned. Spin the drum by hand; it should rotate smoothly.
  • Inspect motor connections: Locate the motor at the bottom rear of the tub. Check the multi-pin connector for secure fit and no burning.
  • Check carbon brushes (if fitted): Remove the motor (usually 2–4 bolts). Inspect the carbon brushes; if they are shorter than ~1 cm or unevenly worn, replace with Candy-compatible brushes.
  • Test tachometer: Measure resistance across the tachometer coil (usually a few hundred ohms). If open circuit, the motor or tachometer assembly must be replaced.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the motor and belt, reconnect power, and run a spin test.

If the motor and wiring are sound but E06 persists, the main PCB motor drive circuit is likely faulty and requires professional repair or replacement.
