Washer shows E40; door symbol may flash and cycle will not start.

Safety: Ensure the machine is idle before forcing the door.

• Check for obstructions: Remove any clothing or objects trapped between the door and the rubber seal.
• Close firmly: Push the door closed until a clear click is heard.
• Inspect hinge and catch: If the door sags or does not align with the frame, tighten hinge screws or replace the hinge. Replace a worn or broken catch.

If E40 persists with a properly closing door, the door lock itself may be faulty and should be replaced.
