Possible Causes
Stuck door interlock, Broken door handle mechanism, PCB not sending unlock signal, Wiring fault to lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power. Do not force the door open.
- Wait and reset: Leave the machine unplugged for 5–10 minutes to allow the lock to cool and release. Try opening again.
- Emergency release: Many Candy models have a manual release tab near the pump filter or behind the lower front panel. Pull gently to open the door.
- Replace interlock: If the lock repeatedly fails to release, replace the door interlock assembly.
If the lock is good but E42 persists, the PCB may not be driving the lock correctly and requires professional service.
