Possible Causes

Child lock (key lock) activated, Door not detected as closed, Faulty start/pause button, User interface board fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No internal work is needed for basic checks.

  • Check child lock: On many Candy models, press and hold the designated key-lock buttons (often two buttons together) for 3–5 seconds to toggle the lock. Refer to the user manual.
  • Confirm door closure: Ensure the door is firmly shut and the door-locked indicator illuminates.
  • Power reset: Turn off and unplug the washer for 5 minutes, then retry.
  • Button test: If some buttons work and others do not, the control panel membrane or PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
