Possible Causes

Faulty door interlock switch, Broken or loose door lock wiring harness, Defective main control board (PCB), Misaligned door catch/striker

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the CDA washer from the mains and turn off the water supply before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door lock for testing with the machine powered.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Inspect the door and latch: Open and close the door firmly. Check the plastic door catch on the door and the metal/plastic striker on the cabinet. If cracked, loose, or misaligned, the interlock may not engage. Tighten screws and replace damaged parts.
  • Access the door interlock: Remove the front door seal clamp (spring band) and peel back the seal to reach the door lock assembly on the front panel. On many CDA models the interlock is held by 2 screws from the front.
  • Check wiring: With power still disconnected, inspect the wiring harness from the interlock to the main PCB for burns, loose connectors, or broken conductors. Reseat all plugs firmly.
  • Test the interlock: Using a multimeter on continuity, test the lock terminals according to the wiring diagram (often printed on the back panel or in the user manual). If the lock coil is open circuit or the switch does not close when manually actuated, the interlock is faulty.
  • Replace if needed: Fit a new CDA-compatible door lock assembly, transfer wiring one connector at a time, and refit the door seal and clamp. Ensure the door closes smoothly and engages the lock.
  • If E01 persists: The main control board relay or door lock driver circuit may be defective. At this point, professional diagnosis of the PCB is recommended.
