Possible Causes

Blocked pressure switch hose, Faulty water level pressure switch, Stuck or leaking water inlet valve, Control board water level circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer immediately if it is overfilling. Turn off the water tap to stop further filling.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Inspect the pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the thin rubber hose running from the bottom of the tub to the pressure switch. Remove it at both ends and blow through it to ensure it is clear. Clean any soap scum or residue from the tub connection.
  • Check the pressure switch: With the hose removed, gently blow into the switch and listen for 1–3 distinct clicks. Use a multimeter to verify that the switch contacts change state when pressure is applied. If not, replace the switch.
  • Examine the inlet valve: If water continues to enter the drum even when the machine is unplugged, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open. Replace the valve assembly.
  • Inspect wiring and PCB: Check the wiring harness between the pressure switch and the main control board for damage or loose connectors. If all components test good but E04 persists, the PCB water level circuit may be faulty and require professional replacement.
  • After repair: Reassemble, restore water and power, and run a short wash while monitoring the fill level. The water should stop below the door glass midpoint.
