Possible Causes

Shorted component on main PCB, Damaged mains filter (EMI filter), Wiring short to chassis, Moisture ingress on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and leave it disconnected for several minutes. If the circuit breaker has tripped, reset it only after inspecting for obvious damage.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Visual inspection: Remove the top cover and inspect the main control board and mains filter module for burn marks, melted components, or a strong burnt smell.
  • Check wiring harness: Look for pinched or rubbed-through wires, especially where the harness passes through metal panels. Repair any damaged insulation and secure the harness with clips or ties.
  • Inspect for moisture: Check around the detergent drawer and top of the tub for leaks that may drip onto the PCB. Resolve any leaks (e.g. split dispenser hose, loose clamps) before replacing electronics.
  • Test mains filter: If accessible, disconnect the EMI filter and check for obvious cracking or bulging. Replace if damaged.
  • PCB replacement: If the board shows visible damage or E09 persists after wiring checks, the main PCB will likely need replacement. Transfer all connectors one by one to the new CDA-compatible board, following the wiring diagram.
