Possible Causes
Partially blocked pump impeller, Obstructed sump hose, Slow drain due to long or high standpipe, Weak drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and prepare for water spillage when opening the filter.
Step-by-step checks:
- Clean pump and sump: Open the pump filter and remove debris. Detach the sump hose from the tub (from underneath) and clear any lint or foreign objects.
- Check standpipe height: Ensure the drain hose is installed at the correct height per CDA instructions (usually 60–100 cm). Too high or too long a run can slow drainage.
- Assess pump strength: With the hose directed into a bucket, run a drain cycle and observe flow. A weak, intermittent flow suggests a failing pump motor.
- Replace pump if weak: Fit a new CDA-compatible drain pump and ensure all seals and clamps are secure.
