Possible Causes
Torn or perished door seal, Foreign object trapped in seal, Loose door seal retaining band, Over-foaming from excess detergent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply before working around the door seal.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect seal: Gently pull back the grey rubber seal and look for tears, holes, or trapped objects. Remove any debris.
- Check retaining bands: Ensure the outer and inner metal or wire bands are in place and tight. Refit or replace if loose.
- Detergent use: Reduce detergent quantity and use HE (low-foam) products to prevent suds pushing past the seal.
- Replace seal if damaged: Remove the outer clamp, peel the seal off the front panel, then remove the inner clamp from the tub. Fit the new CDA-compatible seal in reverse order, ensuring the drain holes are at the bottom.
