Possible Causes
Faulty drive motor, Defective motor capacitor (on some Comfee top-load models), Loose or damaged motor wiring harness, Failed motor control circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the motor or control board. Capacitors can hold a charge; discharge safely if you are qualified.
- Check for overload: Remove some laundry and try a smaller load. Overloading can trigger motor protection and E3.
- Inspect drum movement: With the washer unplugged, rotate the drum by hand. It should move smoothly without grinding or binding. If it is seized, there may be a mechanical issue (bearing or foreign object).
- Access motor area: Remove the rear or bottom panel to view the drive motor. Inspect the wiring harness for loose plugs, broken wires, or signs of overheating.
- Check belt (if belt-driven model): Ensure the drive belt is on both the motor pulley and drum pulley and is not broken or excessively loose.
- Advanced testing: Using a multimeter, test the motor windings for continuity according to the service manual specs. If open or shorted, replace the motor. If the motor tests good but E3 persists, the motor control circuit on the main PCB may be defective and require replacement.
