Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness between NTC and PCB, Control board sensing circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the heater/NTC area.

  • Locate NTC sensor: On most Comfee front-load models, the NTC is mounted in the heater bracket at the bottom of the tub.
  • Check connection: Ensure the NTC plug is fully seated and the wires are not pinched or broken.
  • Test sensor: Remove the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to Comfee specifications; a reading of near 0 Ω or infinite Ω indicates a failed sensor.
  • Replace NTC: If out of spec, install a new OEM NTC sensor and reconnect wiring.
  • Control board: If a known-good NTC still results in E31, the temperature sensing circuit on the main PCB may be defective and require replacement.
