Possible Causes
Cracked tub-to-pump hose, Loose hose clamp, Damaged outer tub, Leaking drain pump housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when opening panels.
- Tip and inspect: Carefully tilt the washer back and look underneath with a flashlight for signs of water trails or mineral deposits.
- Check hoses: Remove the rear or front lower panel and inspect the tub-to-pump hose, pump-to-drain hose, and inlet hoses for cracks or loose clamps.
- Examine pump: Look for leaks around the drain pump body and seals. Replace the pump if the housing is cracked or leaking.
- Outer tub: If the plastic outer tub is cracked, replacement of the tub assembly is usually required and may not be economical on older units.
