Possible Causes
Faulty Start/Pause button, Defective user interface PCB, Child lock enabled, Loose harness between UI and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control panel.
- Check child lock: Look for a key or lock icon on the display. Disable child lock according to the user manual (often by holding specific buttons for several seconds).
- Door status: Ensure the door is fully closed and the door lock engages; many models will not respond to Start if the door is not recognized as closed.
- Reset control: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try again.
- Inspect UI board: Remove the control console and check the Start button mechanism for physical damage or sticking. Reseat the ribbon cable to the main PCB.
- Replace UI: If the Start button does not register (no click or no response) and wiring is intact, replace the user interface board or control panel assembly.
