Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply. Prepare towels and a shallow pan—water will spill when hoses are opened.
Clear the drain system:
- Access pump filter: On many Crosley front-load models, remove the lower front access panel. Locate the drain pump clean-out cap.
- Drain manually: Place a pan under the cap and slowly loosen it to let water drain. Tighten and empty the pan as needed until water flow stops.
- Clean filter: Remove the cap fully and pull out any lint, coins, buttons, or debris from the filter and pump housing. Spin the pump impeller with your finger; it should turn freely.
- Inspect hoses: Check the black tub-to-pump hose for socks or small garments. Remove the rear panel if needed and squeeze along the hose to feel for blockages. Remove the drain hose from the standpipe and check for kinks or clogs.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall all hoses and the filter cap securely. Plug the washer back in and run a Drain/Spin cycle to verify proper draining.
If F02 returns: The drain pump motor may be weak or seized. Check for 120 VAC at the pump during drain (only if you are trained to work with live voltage). If voltage is present but the pump does not run or is noisy, replace the drain pump assembly.
