Washer stops heating water or aborts cycle with F07; clothes may come out cold on hot cycles.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and shut off water. Heating components can retain voltage—verify power is off with a meter if possible.
Check heating element and wiring:
- Access heater: Remove the rear panel. The heater is usually mounted in the lower rear of the outer tub with two terminals and a ground.
- Inspect visually: Look for burned connectors, melted insulation, or signs of arcing at the heater terminals.
- Test heater: Disconnect the heater wires and measure resistance across the terminals. Typical values are 10–30 ohms (refer to your tech sheet). If open (OL) or shorted to ground, replace the heater.
- Check thermal cutoff: Some Crosley models include a thermal fuse or cutoff in series with the heater. Test for continuity; replace if open.
If heater circuit is good: The heater relay on the main control board may not be energizing. This requires board-level diagnosis and usually replacement of the control board. Because this involves high voltage switching, consider professional service.
