Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. Water level components are low-voltage but you will be near live wiring if power is applied.
Inspect pressure system:
- Locate pressure switch: On many Crosley washers, the pressure switch is mounted near the top of the cabinet with a small rubber hose running down to the tub or air dome.
- Check hose: Remove the hose from the switch and tub end. Blow through it; it should be clear. Clean any soap scum or debris from the air dome connection on the tub.
- Inspect for kinks or cracks: Replace the hose if it is brittle, cracked, or kinked, as this can cause incorrect water level readings.
- Test switch: With the washer unplugged, use a multimeter to check continuity across the switch terminals while gently blowing into the pressure port. The contacts should change state as pressure increases.
Corrective action: Replace the water level pressure switch if it does not respond to pressure changes or if contacts are stuck. If hose and switch are good, the main control board may not be interpreting the signal correctly and may need replacement.
