Possible Causes

Stuck-open inlet valve, blocked pressure hose, failed pressure switch, control board not shutting off valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Immediate action: Unplug the washer to stop water flow. Turn off both hot and cold water supply valves to prevent flooding.

Check inlet valves:

  • Inspect for mechanical sticking: Remove the top panel. Locate the water inlet valve assembly where hoses connect. Disconnect power to the valve and turn water back on briefly. If water still flows into the tub with no power, the valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Clean inlet screens: Turn off water, disconnect hoses, and inspect the small screens inside the valve inlets. Clean sediment with a soft brush; do not puncture the screens.

Verify pressure system:

  • Follow the steps in the F08 procedure to ensure the pressure hose and switch are clear and functioning. A blocked hose can make the control think the tub is empty when it is full.

If valves and pressure system are good: The main control board may be failing to shut off the valve. This is a safety-critical fault; if suspected, have a qualified technician test and replace the board.
